At PackBenefit, we are proud to have participated in the second consortium meeting of the REDYSIGN project , which took place on March 20-21, 2024 at the BessaHotel Baixa, in Porto (Portugal), and was organized by HOLOSS.
During two intense days of discussion, the partners carried out an exhaustive review of the first six months of work, laying the groundwork to face the next challenges of the project.
The first day was focused on management aspects, where we reviewed the status of the project, the technical work in progress, and the next milestones and deliverables needed to ensure the effective and agile progress of the project.
Technical presentations from FIBENOL, TECNALIA, VALMET, METGEN, RISE PFI, VTT and the FNMT promoted in-depth exchanges on the first results, where PackBenefit, as a tray producer, and together with EROSKI as a distributor, provided key perspectives from the industrial and end-user side.
These sessions were fundamental to identify potential risks and start developing risk management strategies to ensure the success of the project.
On the second day, we addressed crucial topics for REDYSIGN, including sustainability, data management, communication and exploitation of results. The workshop on “Safe and Sustainable by Design” (SSbD) coordinated by HOLOSS was a highlight, in which we delved into Life Cycle Analysis (LCA) and its essential role in the assessment of environmental impacts.
Concepts such as Life Cycle Costing (LCC) and Social Life Cycle Analysis (s-LCA) were also explored, thus broadening the vision of sustainability at REDYSIGN.
To close the meeting, FENIX TNT and ZABALA INNOVATION presented the structure of the Data Management Plan and shared the progress in communication and dissemination actions carried out in the initial phase, including the creation of the project’s official website and the launch of campaigns on social networks.
The meeting concluded on a positive note, celebrating significant progress towards the development of an innovative second-generation food packaging within REDYSIGN.
At PackBenefit, we reaffirm our commitment to the ambitious objectives of the project and to the collaborative effort of all partners to create sustainable alternatives in fresh meat packaging.
